Missions Team

The name of this team would imply that members of the Mission Team travel here and there performing missions. The truth is more to do with stewardship of the funds allocated for mission support.

When St. John's collects money through giving by the congregation we have a responsibility to make sure the money is used for the furtherance of God's Kingdom on earth. The Parochial Church Council takes responsibility to make sure that the money given is allocated appropriately. A detailed budget is prepared and various teams at St. John's are allocated funds. The budget approved for the Mission Team (which is 10% of the the freewill offerings received from the congregation) is used to support mission at home and around the world.

St John's supports large Christian charities, as well as smaller charities and individuals (see below for the previous year's donations). Our support is not static and the Mission Team prays constantly for God's guidance about whom we should support each financial year. The Mission Team is a vital part of our Christian work in this place.
