St. John's Lent Course will start on Tuesday, 2nd March at 7.30pm in the Church Centre and is called 'Life Balance'.  It will look at our patterns of work, rest and play and examine our values and life princicples in the light of the Bible's teaching about the Sabbath.  Call the Parish Office for more details

This is a Church of England Church, but we adopt a more ‘relaxed’ style of worship than you might find in other Anglican Churches! Clive, our Vicar, usually leads the services, but he doesn’t always wear the robes associated with the C of E.

This doesn’t make our worship any less sincere, in fact it’s quite the opposite. We believe that worship, the way in which we value God and express this as a community, is an essential part of the Christian life, and the teaching we receive is very much Bible-based.

To meet the needs of this growing and vibrant Church, we have two main services, at 9.30 and 11.15. The focus at the 9.30 service is for new Christians and young families, with lots of modern worship songs and a shorter talk. If you have small children, you’ll find toys in the right hand corner of the church near the altar, and the leaders of the services don’t mind at all if your child wants to wander about a bit. The Welcome Team will make sure they don’t go out of the door! Feel free to wave a banner if it helps in your worship.

The 9.30 service finishes at about 10.30, and coffee and tea are served in the Centre next door until 11.15. This enables those going to the later service to meet together with those who have just finished the 9.30 and ensures contact between the two, avoiding us becoming a Church with two congregations. You are, of course, welcome to both services!

The 11.15 service is aimed at those who prefer a more in-depth sermon and 1 or 2 traditional hymns.

The 7pm service is generally quieter and more reflective, with an in-depth sermon.

And on the 1st Sunday of the month we join together for one main morning service at 10am!

Further information regarding the services can be found on the ‘Services’ link on the Website. If you would like more detail or information regarding St. John’s, please call the Parish Office, which in open daily (Monday – Friday) from 9.00am – 12 noon, on 01243 375576.

1 Peter 3:15
“But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,”
